On the 30th of April 2020, His Excellency Dr. Tarek Rahmy, Governor of Gharbia, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Atta, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, Mr. Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, and Mr. Adel Attia, Chairman of the Gharbia Water and Sanitation Company, opened the new pumping station in Al-Samah village, Tanta. This project is part of the Improved Water and Wastewater Services program (IWSP1); a European water initiative to improve the water sector in Egypt.
Chemonics Egypt Consultants (CE) was the Consultant for this project, in which it provided construction supervision and project management services, in addition to supporting the project implementation units (PIUs) with technical services. CE’s scope also included the sewage network in addition to the pumping station. CE is currently supporting other projects with similar scope in different governorates in Egypt that are expected to operate in the foreseeable future.
